Notes:
Hello, all! I’m currently attending a field botany class. For our final project, we have to make a portfolio of an ecosystem that includes at least 10 plant species. Please help me identify these plants I collected on my walk through the woods! They were all found in Lawrence, Kansas at Clinton Lake. Any help is very much appreciated! Thanks!

laura735 Master Identifier says:
#2 maybe a species of sumac (Rhus), perhaps aromatic/ fragrant sumac (Rhus triloba)? Again I’m only speculating. Check out the link below for R. triloba. Click on images from link below to enlarge. On the side for #3, we will need more information to help you narrow it down. http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/62279/

Without more details of the plants i.e. tree, woody shrub, vine, flower etc… I could only speculate by the leaves images for the top two photos. #1- Maybe a type of oak, perhaps Chinkapin (Qeucus muehlenbergii) or English oak (Quecus robur)? If this an oak, you can search for its acorns to help narrow down its species. Link below is for Chinkapin. Best wishes! http://www.carolinanature.com/trees/qumu.html
