Notes:
This plant was in a bucket in the greenhouse of a home I bought last spring. It had bamboo type stems. I moved outside to a shallow end of a pond, and it began to produce pretty red flowers. They only lasted a day or so but they kept coming all summer. In fall, I cut it back and returned it to the greenhouse. It hasn’t grown back yet, and may be dead. Would like to know the name so I can get another one!

Compare with Hibiscus coccineus (swamp hibiscus). Apparently hardy only up to zone 7. Should still be alive, if kept in greenhouse… Easily grown from seed…
