Hi Walter, You’re welcome! Also see if you could confirm its ID by the experts from the link below. Your bromeliad is beautiful, worthy to be on any of greeting cards! Best wishes! Laura http://www.bssf-miami.org/

Hi Laura, Well you nailed it. I went to the site in your response and there is no doubt that it is an Aechmea Medusa. My other photos of different blooms on the same plant look exactly like the ones I saw when I googled Aechmea Medusa. I wanted to use my photo as a greeting card, and I always try to put the proper plant name on the back of my cards, but I was stumped with this one. I really appreciate you answer, Walter

HI Laura735, You nailed it. It definitely is a Bromeliad – Aechmea Medusa. A seller on eBay has several photos of his “Aechmea Medusa” plants and his photos look exactly like mine. At first I thought it was my photo. Your identification is very much appreciated. I want to make greeting cards with my Aechmea Medusa photo, and I like to put the plant name on the back. Walter

Looks like a bromeliad cultivar in the Bromeliaceae family. I’m not an expert of this plant group and can only guess yours maybe from the genus Aechmea, Sorry, I don’t know for certain which species or hybrid this is. You might want to check out bromeliad cultivars with the spineless leaf type. From a search on the Internet yielded image of “Aechmea Medusa” has a similar appearance to yours. But I only speculating. Best wishes! http://bullisbrom.com/plant/medusa-2/
