Notes:
I have several of these growing in the front yard. At first I thought of poison sumac, but the leaf arrangement isn’t quite right. Plus no rash after 3 days… I just wonder what it is. I have searched several sites seeking an answer, but nothing like this shows up. Having transplanted to GA from NJ, I keep seeing new plants, this is the first I can’t figure out.

Thank you, that is exactly it. I’ll make sure there are no berries for now, and kill it mid-winter when I get a little time. There are several, it’ll take some time…

Well you were partly right… definitely poison… http://ar.audubon.org/nandina-berries-kill-birds Nandina is invasive, and the best thing you can do is to dig it out… Plant something safe for the birds… like blueberry.
