This photo was taken in Gulf Breeze FL. It’s a plant/weed that has taken over one corner of my yard in less than 3 weeks.

I agree with stone that it’s Burn Weed. It’s easy to control with post-emergent chemicals but tough to control with pre-emergents. Elbow grease, applied liberally, works well too.

They’re kinda small yet, and not the clearest shot we could hope for… There’s like 3 or more plants they remind me of, some of which are desirable, and should be encouraged. It might be burnweed (Erechtites hieraciifolia) suitable only for adding quick growing bulk to the compost pile. Or…. they could be one of the Joe Pye weeds (Eutrochium sp.) and are absolute butterfly magnets in bloom… It also kinda resembles Eupatorium odoratum… Which isn’t a bad native to have either. I’d suggest waiting for a positive ID… None of these things are going to be taking over… Although the burnweed does come up from the dandelion tuft-type seeds in fair patches… it also pulls very easily.
