Notes:
I found these all over my lime basil yesterday, just in time for Halloween! What in the world are these things? They are about 3/16″ in diameter. They look like slimy little eyeballs everywhere. I haven’t been able to identify them. Can you help?

Indian grocers sell a drink that is made of water, honey, and basil seeds. Very good, but looks like a mass of frog eggs. People also put basil seeds in Kombucha.

Henry County Extension agent Frank Hancock gets the prize! They are simply water-hydrated basil seeds. Check out this link: http://www.rexmanningday.com/category/gardening/herbs-gardening/

They could be slug eggs. I’ve found little piles of slug eggs in my garden before. I destroy them. If you’re adventurous, cut one open and see what’s inside.
