Notes:
Found this plant (shrub, I think) at a preschool in the Atlanta area. It has a rather fragile, green (not woody) stem, dark pointy leaves, round black berries about the size of a large pea (maybe a little bigger), and small, fragile white flowers with a protruding yellow center (almost remind me of deadly night shade flowers but the wrong color). I want to find out what this is so I know if it’s poisonous.

That’s a black nightshade. I’ve heard of people eating the RIPE berries, but the green berries and the rest of the plant is rather poisonous. Atropine i believe. Same family of plants as the tomato and tobacco. There is another plant that is very similar but has thorns and the ripe berries turn yellow, its called horse nettle, also rather poisonous.

Oh gosh, it might be. The leaves of my plant seem a little pointier, but could that just be an individual difference in plant?
