Notes:
Just beautiful, what is it? Looks evergreen with very fine leaves simular to Christmas trees. This tree is in a common area of my neighborhood.

To buy, it would need to be Pikes or a nursery more geared toward native trees and plants. If this showed up at HD or WM I’d be shocked. Bald Cypress is easy, drought tolerant, wet tolerant, and gets pretty darn big, so choose the spot wisely.

Pretty sure it’s the bald cypress. They were widely sold a few years ago as a dawn redwood, supposedly the oldest known species of tree or something like that. A friend of mine, gone now, had great luck growing them from seeds, her “seedlings” are forty or so years old now. Don’t have one single bad thing to say about them, wonderful tree, wonderful spring, summer and fall color. Soft needle like leaves turn orange and drop as winter approaches.
