found underground in my courtyard in Arizona. The ground “heaved” and cracked, I dug down and found three of this round objects. The ground is dry, not wet. What is it – do I need to do something to prevent others from occuring??

Looks like a Western Rhizopogon A type of mushroom that grows in sandy soil. There are 200 different species. Sometimes smells like sourdough. I would just leave them alone. They don’t hurt anything.
