I cut this vine that was climbing up several trees…..a few days later this orange goop began to drip out and a week later it is still actively dripping…??????? What is it and is it dangerous? thanks so much for any information. Mary Ann Stewart

Looks like a grapevine to me. The sap is running and probably fermenting. Not dangerous

It looks like greenbrier (smilax sp). Smilax is edible… Greene Deene has videos on YouTube dedicated to identifying smilax, and preparing it to eat… While Greene Deene cooks his smilax, I prefer to graze on it out in the garden… The orange goop is not something I’ve observed…. But ima test the vine directly… That particular vine (there are several kinds), didn’t taste very good when I sampled it last Spring…
