Notes:
Friend says this is a peony her parents had in their yard for 40 years plus. The leaves do not look like any peony or camellia I have ever seen. What is it?

Peony. Look at the bud and leaf near the bottom left of the photo. Peonys often have a variety of leaf shapes on the same plant.
