Notes:
I have a couple of plants growing in a shady area near a stream and I have no idea what they are. The leaves are shiny on the top w/smooth edges and are arranged alternately on the stem; the underside of the leaf is almost white, hairless. Immediately above each mature leaf is a thorn about 1-2 inches long, very sharp and hard (the branch I broke off really doesn’t show the matured thorn in the photo). I’d like to know what it is so I can cut it down before it spreads. Thanks!
