Notes:
This weed has infiltrated my lawn for the past 2 years. I sprayed Weed-b-gon 5 weeks ago, and it’s back in full force. It appeared to work for a while, but I guess it just re-seeds itself (see the seed pods underneath in the second photo). Any recommendations on getting rid of it? I could Roundup the lawn since that side has little grass anyway, but I’m afraid those seeds will just bring the problem back in a few weeks or next spring. Thanks in advance. Mark

Use a surfactant(sticker) product mixed with your herbicide when you spray Chamberbitter. 2,4,d does not work. The product with the brand name of Dismiss works well.

Unfortunately that little weed is a big problem. Identified as Chamberbitter or Mimosa Weed (because it looks like tiny Mimosa Trees) it is very hard to control. I have tried application of 2,4-D and preemergent herbicides, but have found that the best control is pulling the plants up. They spread through spores underneath the leaf. When you pull the plant up, don’t discard it where the spores can survive.
