Notes:
We saw this in someone’s yard -not wild Many stalks come from one place in the ground – Long slender opposing leaves long green pods – a flower cluster in each one – small red pods turn into flowers – old original pods turn brown and have “hair” coming out of them.

Thanks so much. I have always wanted a Milkweed to attract Monarchs but did not know what they looked like. I will certainly try to get a spent pod.

Tropical milkweed… a host plant for the monarch butterfly. The seeds come up readily, ask the home-owner if you can have a pod.
