Notes:
These worms chew through the leaves or bore in between the layers of the leaf. I also have damage to a nearby rose. I have not seen what’s eating the rose leaves. I’ve been treating with insecticidal soap. What are they and should I use something else or step up the use of the soap?

The top picture is Callaloo (edible Ameranth). I actually tried some pigweed (inedible Ameranth – weed) nearby but the “grubs” never touches it. I noticed a new type of worm today. I have some Sevin powder. I’ll give that a try. Thanks

The top picture looks like pigweed and damage typical of the cucumber beetle. In my garden, I grow the pigweeds for the cucumber beetles, and they stay in the weeds, and don’t bother the food. The bottom 2 pictures, I can’t really see. One grub kinda looks like a possible flea beetle grub, but like I said, I can’t really tell what I’m seeing. If it’s still on the pigweed, I wouldn’t be concerned. The damage to the rose which wasn’t pictured is likely a different critter, like maybe a Japanese beetle.

Sevin will kill them. Dipel, also, is good to use when you have caterpillars, and it is non-toxic to people and animals. Buck
