We have no idea what this is. I suspect it was a volunteer thanks to birds. It looks like it is getting ready to produce small flowers. I am rather curious what it is. Can anyone help?

Although the leaf has some resemblance to Princess tree (Paulownia tomentosa) in overall shape, I suspect this is Velvetleaf (Abutilon theophrasti). The Paulownia tomentosa leaf has smooth margins while the Abutilon theophrasti leaf has toothed margins such as this photo shows.
