Notes:
This plant has come up for several years. It has pretty little yellow flowers. We have never let it grow more than a foot thinking it is a weed.

Yes, the butterflies love it. Mini science experiment / lab for your kids! egg, caterpillar, butterfly. Of course the birds love to eat the baby caterpillars!

See a previous post to Walter on Sicklepod at this link http://www.walterreeves.com/gardening-q-and-a/sicklepod-coffeebean-identification/ In lawn care it is considered a weed. It is identified as both an annual and perennial by the USDA http://plants.usda.gov/java/profile?symbol=SEOB4&photoID=seob4_003_avp.tif

It’s local name around here is coffee plant – but, it is not the plant coffee comes from. Perhaps during hard times in the past, it was a substitute? It can become a nuissance. Buck
