Notes:
This plant is growing adjacent to an open field that gets sunlight all day. I assume it to be a perennial as the owner of the property rarely tends to any of the plants on the property. The leaves are large with the blossoms being rather small. It has been blooning for the last week making it a mid- June bloomer.

Buck Master Identifier says:
This a native plant. It is Turk’s cap (Malvaviscus arboreus ). It is very heat tolerant, but the leaves tend to get puffy if in the hot sun, so it does best in part sun/part shade. Hummingbirds love it. Quite a nice plant. Buck

Turk’s cap hibiscus (Malvaviscus arboreus). Roots easily, comes up from seed. attracts butterflies and hummingbirds. A very well behaved plant for part shade.
