Pinestraw – Swirls
Q: Do you have any idea what causes big swirls in my pinestraw? One day the pinestraw is smooth and the next day it looks like a turbulent landscape. Some of the swirls are almost cave-like but only a couple of inches deep.
A: It sure sounds like an armadillo came to visit. Theses hard-backed creatures are found throughout north Georgia, from Rome to Athens. You can use a cage trap to capture it if you like. I have details at http://www.walterreeves.com/gardening-q-and-a/armadillo-control/.
