Corn – Pruning
Q: We have a variegated corn plant which we put outside in warm weather and bring back in for winter. It has grown too tall to bring in the house. Is there a proper way to prune it?
A: You can cut it at any point along the trunk. Depending on your indoor decoration scheme, clipping it down to three feet tall wouldn’t be out of the question. Given a sunny window, your plant will sprout new leaves within six inches of that spot. Its sojourn outdoors next year will stimulate lots more growth.
