Garden Club – Creating Your Own
Q: How do I go about finding or setting up a garden club?
A: I think there are many models for a garden club these days. It could be a group of co-workers who enjoy getting together on weekends to attend garden tours. It could be a bunch of neighbors who meet quarterly to landscape the entrance to their subdivision. A garden club could even be an on-line chat group sharing their landscape tips and successes. Ask your friends and neighbors if they would like to join you in a gardening group.
Perhaps you would like to specialize in a single plant. The Atlanta Garden Connection (http://www.atlgarden.com), lists contacts for most of the national and local plant societies. Meeting dates for local garden groups are also noted. If you’d like to become affiliated with The Garden Club of Georgia, call their state headquarters in Athens (706-227-5369).
