Rosemary – Planting Seeds Produced
Q: A group of Teacher Master Gardeners planted rosemary at a nearby elementary school. Some of them have small blue flowers. Will these flowers produce seed we can plant?
A: Rosemary flowers certainly produce seed but I doubt you’ll have success planting them. They are tiny and only about 15% will germinate, if you can collect them in the first place. I never see seedlings sprouting under rosemary plants so my assumption is that your success will be less than that of Mother Nature.
