Schefflera plant- Fungus Growth
Q: I have a schefflera plant on my screened porch. For the second time this summer this plant has neon yellow mushrooms coming up right around the trunk.
A: Your pretty mushrooms are just the “flowers” of a fungus that is very happy because you are applying too much water. A harmless fungus is decomposing the peat moss in the soil and it has become so robust that it’s decided to bloom. The best cure is to only water the schefflera when your finger, inserted an inch into the soil, comes out dry.
