Q&A Can't find your topic?

Apple - Jonathan Red
Q: We are looking for a source to purchase a ‘Jonathan Red’ dwarf apple tree. We had been buying trees from one nursery, but we understand they are out of business. Can you provide a source for this tree?

A: The recent demise of several mail-order companies has left many gardeners without sources of specialty plants. Since I’m convinced that you should purchase plants as close to home as possible, call Lawson’s Nursery in Ball Ground (770-893-2141) and Johnson’s Nursery in Ellijay (888-276-3187) to inquire about your apple.
Other good mail-order substitutes for include Applesource (800-588-3854), Edible Landscaping (800-524-4156) and Raintree Nursery (360-496-6400).

Fertilize fescue lawns for a second time (and again in February and April). Use any turf fertilizer that’s on sale.
