How to Get Free Compost

DeKalb County Public Works collects landscape debris and composts it. The compost is piled at four sites in the county.

The biggest pile, available 24/7, is near the Central Transfer Station, across the street from the county jail complex at Memorial Drive and I-285.

The other sites are limited to weekdays and Saturday pickup.

Keep North Fulton Beautiful provides free mulch and chips at their Morgan Falls recycling center in Sandy Springs.

Gwinnett Clean and Beautiful lists these sites to get free mulch and chips.
